KT is a real team and this isn’t a free win — but T1 at 100% form is a completely different problem than what KT has been dealing with all split.
Recent Form
T1 is perfect recently. Every game controlled, every series closed. KT on the other hand sits at 50% — alternating between good performances and unexplained losses. A team that goes 2-1, then 0-2, then 2-1 isn’t a consistent enough unit to beat T1 right now, even with Aiming performing well in the bot lane.
Head-to-Head
2-2 all time and genuinely even — KT swept T1 2-0 back in April which keeps them honest. But that was a different T1, still adjusting to roster changes with Peyz finding his footing. The T1 that’s been winning eight straight is a different team entirely.
Key Matchup — Jungle
Oner vs Cuzz is the series within the series. Cuzz has historically been one of the few junglers who can genuinely match Oner in early skirmishes and objective trades. If Cuzz wins the jungle matchup and opens up the map for KT, they can steal a game. That’s the only realistic path to a map win.
Key Matchup — Botlane
This is where T1 ends the series. Peyz has been exceptional since joining and the synergy with his support is growing every week. KT’s botlane with Aiming is solid but it’s not at that level right now. If T1 wins bot consistently — which they should — the map pressure becomes suffocating.
The Pick
KT can absolutely take a map if they find the right chaotic draft and Cuzz has a great game. But T1’s botlane advantage is too big and their form is too hot to drop this series.
T1 wins 2-0.
